Dental Clinic

Our dental clinic currently has four dentists, four registered dental hygienists, and dental assistants providing general primary care dentistry and hygiene.

The Affordable Care Act, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Capital Improvement Program and the Kansas Dental Hub II program have provided Salina Health Education Foundation (SHEF) the opportunity to expand and improve services while promoting whole person care.

Recent renovations have allowed us to increase the number of treatment rooms in the dental clinic from 10 to 13 to accommodate additional dental patients.

Our ECP outreach program began in January 2009. This program provides dental hygiene, screenings and oral health education in surrounding schools, Head Start programs, county health departments, adult day care facilities and long term care centers within a 12 county service area. Each school year, we screen approximately 10,000 students in the surrounding communities. Our portable equipment was purchased through private dental grant funding. Supplies needed for screenings, such as masks, gloves and mirrors are provided at no cost by KDHE. Toothbrushes are also provided through a KDHE grant. Oral Health is an important component of overall health and school screenings are mandated through K.S.A. Statute 72-5201.
